Constitutionally Sound episode 10: The Constitutional Future of Wales

In this episode of Constitutionally Sound, our host Nicola McEwen is joined by Laura McAllister, Professor of Public Policy and the Governance of Wales at Cardiff University, to discuss the constitutional future of Wales.

Listen as Nicola speaks to Laura about devolution; the new Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales; and the future of Wales in a number of different constitutional scenarios, asking:

  • How comfortable is Wales with devolution?
  • How has devolution evolved in Wales and what are the barriers to devolution of justice powers, for example?
  • What is the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales and how will it engage with Welsh people?
  • Can you change the constitutional future of the UK from Wales, and if the union is not maintained in its current form, what is the impact on Wales?
