Top Political Science Award for CCC Fellow

The Centre's Asscoaite Director, Prof Nicola McEwen, has received an award recognising excellence in public engagement.

CCC Associate Director, Professor Nicola McEwen, has been awarded the Political Studies Association’s (PSA) prestigious Public Understanding of Politics Award.

The award was given for Prof McEwen’s work at the Centre on Constitutional Change helping the public grapple with the complexities modern politics.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, Prof McEwen said: “It’s a hugely exciting time to be researching the UK’s constitutional relationships. And it’s an honour and a privilege for us to have the opportunity to work with people and organisations outside academia.

“I’m absolutely delighted that the PSA has recognised this contribution and the work of the CCC with this award.”

The PSA is the UK’s leading academic association in the field of political science and current affairs and recognises scholars and politicians at its annual conference, held this week in Glasgow.

Speaking at the same event, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, recognised the “excellent” work being carried out by political science at Scottish Universities, mentioning the Centre on Constitutional Change in particular.
